Design & Engineering

In-house product design covering requirement definition, concept development, 3D modelling, virtual validation and prototyping.

Our R&D centre in Bangalore takes a requirement from a rough brief through to a design that is ready to manufacture. Working through simulation before prototyping cuts the number of physical iterations, which is where most of a project timeline and budget quietly disappear.

At a glance

  • Requirement capture and specification
  • CAD modelling and design for manufacture
  • Structural, thermal and motion simulation
  • Rapid prototype builds

How a design progresses

  1. STEP 01

    Problem definition

Clear identification of user needs, operating environment, compliance targets and project goals before any drawing begins.

  2. STEP 02

    Concept creation

Early sketches and layout options are explored so mechanical, thermal and electrical constraints are reconciled while changes are still cheap.

  3. STEP 03

    3D modelling

Detailed digital parts and assemblies are built in CAD, giving a single reference for tooling, fabrication and downstream assembly.

  4. STEP 04

    Virtual validation

Stress, thermal and motion behaviour are simulated on the model to find weaknesses before a physical build is committed.

  5. STEP 05

    Prototyping

Early physical models are produced to confirm real-world fit, function and manufacturability, then fed back into the design.
